Mistral AI and Google Cloud Forge Alliance to Revolutionize AI Accessibility

In this collaboration, Mistral AI, a European AI solutions provider, joins forces with Google Cloud to make generative AI more open and accessible worldwide. This partnership will utilize Google Cloud's advanced infrastructure to distribute and commercialize Mistral AI's large language models, facilitating the development of more sophisticated open-source AI models in various languages. Mistral AI's open LLM, particularly their compact 7B model, has already been integrated into Google's Vertex AI Model Garden, allowing for easy deployment on existing cloud infrastructures.

This alliance aligns with Google Cloud's commitment to open source support, responsible AI principles, and strong privacy and security standards. Additionally, Mistral AI plans to offer its new mixture-of-expert model on the Google Cloud Marketplace, enhancing its market strategy and global distribution capabilities​.

This strategic move comes shortly after Mistral AI secured $415 million in funding, valuing the 7-month-old startup at about $2 billion. Founded by ex-Google and Meta researchers, Mistral AI has become a notable player in the European AI startup scene, focusing on open-source software for chatbots and generative AI tools​
